“Without virtue there can be no liberty.”

Known as the Father of American Medicine, Dr. Benjamin Rush (1746 – 1813) was a leader in the abolitionist movement, a founder of the first American Bible Society, and helped start the American Sunday School movement.

John Adams considered Dr. Rush to be one of the three most notable Founding Fathers, along with George Washington and Benjamin Franklin.
